Since graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture, from Makerere
University, he has accumulated over eight years of versatile experience
in the design and supervision of building construction in Uganda. He
believes in creating futurist designs with every resource available to
science and technology to create comfort and utility. As an architect
trained and working in tropical Uganda, his design style is based on
modern spectacular views capturing nature, lots and lots of light. He
has supervised projects as Project Manager and Project Architect,
ranging from institutional structures, hotels, commercial structures to
homes.
He has participated in projects in social institutional sectors like
the proposed NSSF Head Quarters and Commercial Centre on Plot 15 A/B
and 17 Lumumba Avenue. He took part in the Preparation/Refurbishment
[IFMS-LAN] Second Economic and Finance Management Project [EFMP II]
under the Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development
funded by World Bank. As Team Leader he was responsible for overall
supervision of the consultancy team to ensure timely work output and
submission of reports to the client.
As Project Manager he has supervised Wakiso District Administrative
Building & Council Hall, Mbarara District Administrative
Building
& Council Hall, a Library for Ntare School in Mbarara,
Completion
of the Uganda National Curriculum Development Center (NCDC), Central
Phytosanitary Laboratory and Pesticide Incinerator at Namalere, Eye
Unit at Soroti, Referral Hospital, Sight Savers International,
Conference facilities for St. Francis Makerere University, Commercial
Building - Pt 6 Burton Street Kampala.
As Project Architect he has been responsible for the preparation of
design and production of detailed drawings, Reviewing Engineers'
drawings and Quantity Surveyor's Bills for Jinja Central School,
Ntungamo Standard School, Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Conservation Trust, (MBIFCT) Kabale Trust Office, Apartments on Plot 36
Princess Anne Drive, Soroti District Administrative Building &
Council Hall, Kiboga District Administrative Building & Council
Hall, New Petrol Station - Plot 46-48 Bombo Road, 12 Storey Office

He further worked as a Project Architect for the Proposed Resort inn
chain for Infinity Inns Ltd to be built in Bushenyi, Kabale, Masaka,
Kampala and Jinja, a Proposed 12 Storey office complex for CODA
International on Plot 16A Clement Hill Road, Kampala, Proposed 5 Storey
shopping mall on Plot 4 Pilkington Road Kampala for, Colline House Ltd.

Richard Turyahabwe is a Board Member of Uganda Architects Registration
Board which is responsible for Registration of Architects, regulating
